Welcome respite for The Lads, on Adox MCC paper |
That's the Sheep Man on the right, by the way, though how he can bear to leave those wee lambs for an evening I know not :)
I took the stealth camera (M6) and the 21mm lens (Voigtlander), just zone focussed at f/5.6 and hoped for the best. I was down about 1/15th of a second so I set the camera on the table for this one. HP5+ in ID-11 if you're interested in such things...
They look like they've seen your stealth camera quite a few times. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you have an external viewfinder for the 21mm lens? Or just look at the 28mm lines in the camera's viewfinder and guess what else will get into the frame?
I think they're getting used to me, Marcus - I'm usually the one carrying the camera when no-one else is...
DeleteI do have a vf for the 21mm but on this occasion I didn't use it. I just pointed the camera in the general direction and pressed the shutter. With 21mm if you're far enough away you get a lot in the frame and this was really only for a bit of fun.
Then I'm very impressed by your blind shooting skills.
DeleteWhen I was taking photo classes I think I was also the only person who had a camera with me in the classroom.
Ta very much! For me, the old saying is true - the more I practice, the luckier I get.
DeleteI notice a lot of Club Members only take their cameras 'when they're going out on a shoot'. I like to carry a camera all the time when I'm out and about. The times I don't, I usually see something interesting...
Although I have the camera in the iPhone with me at all times, I tend to forget about it. In fact, I only use the iPhone camera when I just want to quickly show somebody something I saw. There's always a proper camera around my neck or hanging off my shoulder. Because, as you say, the day you don't have it is the day you'll find something interesting.
DeleteNice one done with the 21mm, Michael. While the M6 might not be the right weapon for all occasions, this sort of happening is certainly one of them. Oh, and of course as you say, when you just need to bring any camera it's a great one to throw over the shoulder on your way out. Very rarely the 21mm is attached when I just grab it on my way out of course, but it has happened and usually the results will be something else. In 9 out of 10 times I guess the 35 is a safer choice for me, but this was just brilliant I must say. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roy - the 21 was perfect for this occasion. Just pre-focus and point n shoot. Sure I lost a few feet and heads but it was just for fun anyway. It's a gem of a lens that wee screw-mount Voigtlander 21mm. Tiny, tiny thing with a lovely big focus tab - not so much a tab as a tiny little stick pointing out. Perfect ergonomics.
